ALBUM REVIEW: illumination Album Review by KenJazz

Gospel music Brazz instrumentalist KenJazz shares his review on the ILLUMINATION ALBUM by McTarpha. Check it out below:

My review about the album.       "ILLUMI'NATION "
Mctarfa  is an indigene of Adamawa state and also, a sensational Gospel rapper who’s known for dropping mind-blowing songs which has heard alot of testimonies on how people were touched through his music .
McTarpha is a skillful songwriter and a music composer, showcasing lyrical expertise and depth. His motivation to write and rap comes from his love for God and the experiences that have shaped his life.
About the Album Illumi'nation  which I'll write my little review about
*ILLUMI'NATION*Which means lighting the world as believers with reference to Mathew 5:16
McTarpha Lunched his album ILLUMI’NATION 9th of June, 2019. Which was recorded to be among the best ever lunched Gospel album in Adamawa state .
The album "ILLUMI’NATION" which consists of 13 heavy songs packaged with messages
 *Some tracks*
This CD has 13 tracks so I'll write my glimpse review of it.
The first song "ILLUMI'NATION " This album starts off with a favorite of many lovers of hip hop as the course of the album unveiling  (Yes, some audience do sing out in praise with arms extended and voices to full volume!). The song is inspiring, motivating and it's full of message, which talks about shinning the light of God to the world, with reference to the book of Isaiah 60.  The hip hop song ILLUMI'NATION  is sung with a reverent opening. Then it's followed by the next song Chil -Lax which People love to sing it out. MCTarfa gave  this song that same reverence and completes with a big ending. He does the same with a number of other songs in the album including Kingskid where he featured one of a renown producer and a gospel Minister Timmy Samuel, the harmonizing on this track makes it beautiful and appealing to the ear a listener.
MCTarfa gets into a number of hand clapping revival gospel tunes that are straight " Halla, Tafi, Gobara ".  " The way" is one of them, I can picture him handling the mic, sweating and giving it all unto the Lord Most High,  and clapping his hands on each side as in shake it off'. This is one among the tunes that filled this CD, I mean one of the powerful  one, where few top adamawa state music legends  (Zino, Moman, Buzex, Oracool, Onoja and Gentle AJ) puts in their best to it collectively, and I applause the arrangement.

The song Hirzi, a love song where Mctarfa goes romantic by hitting some punchlines from his heart. It's one where he again uses his voice gently, understated. That's the beauty in this one. His voice is particularly mesmerising.
He got me thinking to the extent I prayed for him to have a perfect and a good partner (smiles)
Mctarfa's cultural song Livi'ali,  Livi'ali is an expression of happiness and joy that one can't find a word to say but jump and shout Livi'ali
So simple (ft Piroski ) is my favorite inspirational track on the CD.
The CD ends with Yabo, where he returns all glory to God, and in all situations we should give thanks to the Lord.  Here, a vibrant piano that reflects Mctarfa's  power,  sounds out loud-and-clear. Mctarfa  comes back with a reprise that is extremely powerful.
The featured ministers, and producers (Beatchef, Samtine, Timsbeatz, Gben, Zayne F, Clark, and the Legendary Dr. B. Amongst others) did justice to the songs, put this album together, decided on a pensive close to it.
 *In conclusion*
The recording's quality makes this easy to listen to,  It's slow and reverent at times and then at just the right time.  My particular attraction to this CD is the ease in which Mctarfa sings so many of these Gospel songs and you can tell that he is singing many as a prayer putting meaning and emotion into each word.
I believe this selection/genre of music is an example of the gifts God gives to particular people in this world. Mctarfa  had the gift to singing. Thankfully it is shared with us on albums such as the ILLUMI'NATION.
I'll rate this work in the scale of 10, I'll give it 8.
So far, Mctarfa had been on a church tour of the album, and it is my prayer that God bless you much.
